1987 Cadillac Alanté Gold
The 1987-1993 Allanté is Cadillac's first modern Roadster. (The other second one was the 2004-2009 XLR). This car was all Cadillac with a specially crafted body by the Italian coach builder Pininfarina. With the Italian sculptured body and Cadillac engineering and assembly this was a truly fine automobile. However, with the body built in Italy and then flown in specially outfitted 747 56 bodies at a time half way around the world to Detroit they were a very expensive car to produce.
The Allanté drives like a dream. It has all the comforts and refinements of a Cadillac and the responsiveness of the luxury sports car it was designed to be.
It’s easy to see why I became a huge Allanté fan and I currently own seven of these fine vehicles.
I have so many fine Cadillacs and I liked the Allanté’s so much I tended to hoard them and hide them away in the deep recesses of my collections. I also shied away from taking proper pictures of these fine automobiles. I have come to the realization that I am not giving these fine cars the attention they deserve.
Now that the weather is beginning to cooperate I will take each of these cars out of storage and photograph them so I can share them with you. As I develop each car’s portfolio I will update each’s cars page with new photos and facts specific to that car. (I like photographing the cars almost as much as I enjoy driving and maintaining them.)
Stay tuned and check back often to see how we are coming with the updates.
As always, if you have questions, comments or you would like more information about any specific car please contact me through the contacts page and I will get back to you in the next few days.
